Weatherization

The news is filled with stories concerning how high energy prices are hurting our economy.   Nowhere is this pain felt more than in  low income households.    Traditionally, energy expenditures averaged 16% of expenses in low income households versus 5% in other households.   The rise in energy prices has only made matters worse. 

Simple weatherization measures can save a typical household $358 in the first year (per US Dept of Energy).   This can mean a significant improvement of the financial stability for low income households.
